Halloween is on its way, and the pressure of coming up with a good makeup look can be intimidating. With the beauty community ever-growing and more trends rising to popularity, it’s hard to know where to begin and if you even have the products to achieve it. Here is your go-to guide for easy Halloween looks that can be done with your everyday makeup.
Starting off with a common costume: the skeleton. All you need is your everyday foundation, and some brown and black eyeshadow for a potential smokey eye. The most essential item you need for this look is some black gel, or even liquid, eyeliner for the lines. You can simply draw some on your mouth, or you can take it further by carving your cheeks out. I would typically go for liners that have a small point to help you define your look.
Maleficent: dark, sexy and a surprisingly easy look to replicate. You'll need brown eyeshadow for a wash of colour, your normal skin routine, and a red lip. The most important part of this look, however, is bronzer to carve out your cheekbones, creating the classic maleficent face shape. For your hair, you can pin it back into a bun and make some horns with a headband, tinfoil and some black tape wrapped around it.
Next is a mermaid, taking us back to 2015 when using fishnets to create a scaly effect went viral. Start off with your normal makeup routine and then grab some eyeshadow in any bold colours you fancy. Place a square piece of fishnet (don't worry, it doesn’t have to be precise) on the upper left of your temple. With your makeup brush, simply place the colourful eyeshadow over the top and blend. If you don’t have any shimmery eyeshadows, a highlighter will create the same glisten. For your hair, simple braids or a wet look with some gel would work perfectly – or you could even spray your hair with water and comb it back.
Lastly, pop art. Now I know this seems intimidating, but it is more simple than you'd believe... Creating this iconic look can be achieved using gel or liquid eyeliner. Would you believe it? White liner would help to lift your look, but it’s not a necessity, or if you're feeling brave, a powerful red lip is the way to go.
