Eyeshadow palettes perfect for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and, whilst we may be restricted to Zoom calls with our loved ones and gal pals, that doesn’t mean we can’t put an effort in to look glamorous.

Your beauty editors, myself and Michelle, have listed our favourite eyeshadow palettes perfect for Valentine’s Day. Think pinks, purples, reds, sparkles and plenty of glamour to get you all matted and glittered up for the 14th of February!

I love playing around with these sorts of colours and they’re just so complimentary for any eye colour. I’ve selected five palettes with varying budgets, suitable for anyone wanting to try out a new look on Valentine’s Day.

1. Natasha Denona ‘Love’ Palette (£60): The Love palette by Natasha Denona for me is the epitome of Valentine’s Day and, well, love. Reds, pinks and purples galore, this palette includes 15 gorgeous colours that are extremely pigmented and creamy. The shade ‘Giving’ in particular will make your eyes *pop*. I've attached below a picture of how I wear the palette.

2. Pat McGrath ‘Mothership VIII: Divine Rose II Classic’ Palette (£120): Luxury? This certainly is. Pat McGrath’s eyeshadows have a legendary cult status for a reason- I mean, just look at that packaging! These ten, heavenly colours will have you blushing all day long and can provide you with either a bold and sexy look or something soft and romantic.

3. Morphe ‘9J Just A Crush Artistry Palette’ Palette (£12): If you’re looking for a bolder pop of pink or colour, this palette is ideal. The matte, fuchsia shade in the palette is a real stand-out and the palette has a diverse enough range of colours to encourage lots of different looks.

4. Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ Quad Palette (£40): Charlotte Tilbury’s quad palettes are some of my favourite eyeshadows on the market and the Pillow Talk palette is no different. Including two mattes and two shimmers, these pinks really are just stunning and make for a sultry yet soft smokey eye. I've attached another picture below to show what it looks like on.

5. Makeup Revolution ‘Decadent’ Palette (£12): Perfect for anyone on a budget, Makeup Revolution always provide great quality palettes for those looking to spend less. This particular palette resembles a beautiful sunrise with some peach and pink colours and some lovely shimmers too, colours perfect for a Valentine’s Day look.

Valentine’s Day is the one day I go subtle with my eyeshadow looks. As an Indian girl with a brown complexion, I find that warm tones with a pop of sparkle work best to achieve a warm yet dazzling eye look. So here are some palettes I swear by, that are worth trying out.

1.Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palettes: ‘Mesmerising Maroon’ (£40): Charlotte Tilbury’s collection of luxury palettes are a huge line of beautiful shades you can play around with. The one I would highly recommend is ‘Mesmerising Maroon’, given its four shades in maroon tones, perfect for striking a balance between a soft and bold look. It’s a simple palette with easy-to-follow application instructions at the back. You can always play around with the shades and pigments to achieve a soft and sexy look.

2.Urban Decay Naked Collection- Cherry Palette (£43): Nothing screams Valentine’s Day like the Cherry palette by Urban Decay. A brand known for their eyeshadows, the palette offers over 12 shades in pinks and purples and mattes and shimmers, to creatively balance your eye looks. You could go wild and sexy with a smokey eye or soft and sensual with the pale shades and pop it off with highlighting your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyes.

3.Huda Beauty- Rose Gold Remastered Palette (£56): A palette that’s perfect those who love a little drama. With a mix of pastels and bold shades, this is a classic palette that’s worth the splurge to unleash your inner sensuality and creativity. You can go all out with the pastels and top it off with some sparkle, or bring out the drama with the bright and bold tones.

4.Morphe- 35G Bronze Goals Artistry Palette (£24): What I LOVE about this palette is that it can adapt to any occasion. The palette is an affordable investment with over 35 shades, all in bronze, pinks and pale pink shimmers. This palette is perfect for a soft bronze look and can be topped off with a pink shimmer to keep in touch with the Valentine theme.

5.Chanel- Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in the shade Blurry Mauve (£44): A lot bolder and a lot more matte, this palette is perfect for those who want to ditch the shimmer for a fierce look. It’s a lightweight formula, pigmented enough to give you an edgy yet soft look, and comes in a stylish, compact packaging to slip into your purse for a touch-up. It’ll pair perfectly with minimal makeup and a bold lip.

We hope that you love these ideas and that you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, despite the lockdown. And don’t forget the lip colours! Every eye look needs a contrasting lip look. Think soft pink glosses, bold matte lips, and you can never go wrong with a maroon or red lip. Try these palettes, and you’ll be well off crafting your sensual, sexy and stylish looks.

Remember to take care, stay safe and have fun with your makeup!
