Fashionable stocking fillers that won't break the bank

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

With the cost of living crisis still impacting many people’s lives, many of us will be considering cheaper gift alternatives this Christmas.

Fashion doesn’t have to be expensive so here are our favourite stocking fillers that will keep you and your loved ones looking cute this winter, without breaking the bank.

A colourful scarf

One of my personal favourite accessories this winter has been a chunky and colourful scarf.

A scarf can elevate any basic outfit with a pop of colour while keeping you warm. Primark

has a great range you can choose from for a really good price. This is a great gift for a friend, sister or mum.

If they aren’t too into colour, there are many neutral options too. The scarf pictured costs £8 and is made of recycled materials.

A nail polish set

There are some great nail polish sets on sale right now and with more people switching

from acrylics to natural and gel nails, this is a perfect gift for a nail fanatic in your life.

One that stood out to me was the OPI Beach and Dreams nail polish gift set. It only costs £12.90 but the products are worth £61.65

Crystal Jewellery

Etsy is full of hidden gems and crystal jewellery is one of them. They’re more likely to be

authentic on Etsy in my experience and you can read the reviews beforehand. They’re also

really customisable, usually, you can pick whether you’d like a bracelet, necklace or ring and

exactly which crystals you’d like to be used.

It’s a really thoughtful gift as you can match it up with what that person is going through in

life right now. For example, if they’re struggling with self-love, a rose quartz necklace is

pretty but also has a genuine meaning.

Mini fashion books

I’ve seen these popping up everywhere this year. This series of mini fashion books by Karen

Homer are perfect for any fashion lover, especially if they’re into big brands, catwalk, and fashion design.

The pocket-sized books tell the story of how the brand started and showcase its history within fashion including some beautiful photographs of the best looks. The books themselves are very pretty and would look good on a display shelf.

Tote bags

A tote bag is a much-needed accompaniment to any outfit. Whether it’s an extravagant one made of a unique material or a simple cotton design tote, there’s something for every kind of person.

They’re so personalisable, you could get someone’s favourite artwork printed on there, or their favourite musician.

Tote bags from Typo are on sale right now and they’re really sturdy with a water bottle and key pocket, great for a university student or to take to work. They’re great value for money.
