How to enjoy a sober halloween

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

Halloween is the time of year when the nights are getting longer, and the weather is feeling

colder. Dressing up with your friends is as fun as it was when you were little and eating

sweets until your heart is content is the only thing on the agenda.

As you get older it seems as if everyone you know will be out drinking and partying until the

early hours but there are loads of other activities to enjoy all season long.

When you think Halloween, you will in no doubt picture pumpkins. From pumpkin pie to

pumpkin spiced coffees, they are the centre of Halloween. So how about getting in touch

which your creative side? Inviting all your friend’s round for a pumpkin carving competition is a great way to stay in and have fun. From creating spooky designs to sculpting your masterpiece and watching it come to life when you light it up. Then at the end of the night you can pick your favourite and crown a winner.

If something more relaxing is for you, how about hosting a movie marathon? From The

Addams family to Hocus Pocus you can get comfy on the sofa with all your friends and settle

in for a night of horror. With friends around for support when it gets a little too scary and there for the inevitable discussion of whether Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is in fact a Halloween movie or a Christmas classic, a movie marathon is perfect for a spooky evening.

Halloween is made for thrill seekers. Ghost hunts and horror nights aren’t for the faint

hearted but are ideal if you enjoy all things scary. Around this time of year, you can always

find events to attend which will leave you feeling a little shaken. Whether it’s a themed night at a theme park or a ghost walk through the oldest streets of a city, or it’s a night in with your friends you can certainly feel festive.
