How to feel empowered about being single

Are you currently going through a breakup, heartache, low mental health, or self-esteem?

Are you missing the late night talks, the everlasting warm cuddles when you’re feeling low,

the cute little date nights...or just enjoying the feeling of not being so alone - these are things one typically craves when being single.


What if there was a way to actually find happiness in being single; have you ever considered the benefits of this? If not, I’ll give you some tips and ideas of the advantages of being single, and how to rock the lifestyle.


1) Health Benefits

Sometimes the stress and chaos of relationships can affect your health in a negative

way; you may even begin to lose the motivation of self-care. This can impact your

physical health and mental health, I know if I don't look good, I never feel good and I am sure I’ m not the only one who feels like this. People tend to take care of themselves more when they are single; this could be going to the gym for instance, or getting a pedicure every now and then – we now call this the ‘soft era’.


According to Dr. Trudi Griffin, women (and sometimes men) tend to have better mental and physical health when they are single, in comparison to women in patterns improve... and we all love our sleep let's be real.


Leandra Bumberra, who was the oldest woman to live at 127 years old in 2015, stated that the reason why she was so fit at her age was because she had been ‘avoiding men for so

many years’ – maybe that’s a sign that we should appreciate single life more!


2) You have freedom!

People do not always appreciate freedom, and what it means to be authentically

them self, until they lose it! As a human being, it is so important to exercise your

philosopher and libertarian John Locke supporting this outlook on life. Being free and able to make your own choices without coercion or persuasion from an external party is one of the best feelings ever.


Think of all the activities you can do, like travelling, going out with friends spontaneously for a cheeky meal at a fancy restaurant in a big city, or even treating yourself to an endless amount of shopping – these are activities that make people so happy, but are often hard to do when you are tied down in a relationship.


3) Learning about yourself

When you are alone, and you are the only person you need to concern yourself over and this

can allow you to rediscover yourself. Maybe that entails you going to therapy, meditating, or praying. Many individuals discover the traits they love about themselves, and the traits that they feel they need to work on from a break up. This encourages people to better themselves, and to find inner peace and healing – this can lead to everlasting happiness and sometimes even a better relationship down the line!


So, now you know how to be a bad boss babe, not a sad lonely babe! I hope this encourages many singles out there to put yourselves first – this is your time to heal and shine. Keep smiling, keep thriving.
