PREVIEW: the Leadmill Comedy Club 10-year anniversary

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

The Leadmill Comedy Club is celebrating its ten-year anniversary tomorrow with a night of top-quality stand-up entertainment.

Sheffield’s longest-running nightclub is putting on a night full of laughs with four up-and-coming comedians. A great night out for anyone wanting a good time.

Doors open at 7 pm, and the first act starts at 8 pm.

In the line-up is Dean Coughlin, famous for his podcast, The Mild High Club. Coughlin has performed all over the U.K. as well as in Australia and New Zealand. Joining him is “highly distinctive performer”, Peter Bush, alongside award-winning comedian Nina Gilligan.

Dana Alexander, who has starred in Russell Howard’s Good News, will also be performing.

During the performances, internationally inspired street food vendor Icarus and Apollo will be serving vegan and vegetarian meals. So, you can tuck into some delicious food while watching the comedians perform at their best.

The celebration comes as the Leadmill’s online petition to keep the business open, #wecantloseleadmill, closed last week after six months. The petition reached 46,054 signatures with support from people across the U.K. While the petition is closed, the venue still encourages people to show their support by attending its club nights and events, such as this one.

On Instagram, the Leadmill owners stated: “We’ve seen record attendances since April, so please keep coming down and support us…”

The Comedy Club takes place monthly, so turning its ten-year anniversary into an exciting event will hopefully bring more people and encourage them to support the business in its fight to keep its doors open.

Booking advanced reserved seats costs £7, or you can book a table for up to four people for £32.
