Pop sensation Taylor Swift has announced that the concert film of her smash hit tour will be coming to screens across the globe.
The Eras Tour, Taylor’s sixth concert tour, has been breaking records both in the USA and internationally. The singer hit headlines when Ticketmaster crashed during the presale, leading to the U.S. Department of Justice initiating a federal probe after scalpers purchased a large number of tickets and put them onto resale sites.
The concert, which lasts for nearly three hours and features a collection of the songwriter’s greatest hits, has proven incredibly popular. Demand for tickets was so high that Swift added multiple dates to each leg of the tour, with the final show now set to take place in Toronto in November 2024.
The release of the concert film was met positively by fans, with many now able to see the show for a fraction of the price of a tour ticket. The movie was shot during Taylor’s performances at the SoFi stadium in August 2023 and is scheduled to be released worldwide on October 13th. Initial trailers indicated that the film would only be available to North American viewers, which disappointed fans in countries where the pop star wasn’t scheduled to visit during her tour.
However, the movie is now set to be played in over 100 countries, meaning that international fans have an opportunity to watch the songwriter in action. Tickets for the film cost £19.89, cleverly linking to the release of her latest album, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27th. Fans will also have the opportunity to collect merchandise at select showings, with custom popcorn buckets and posters available.
The film is a fantastic opportunity for those who were unable to secure tickets to experience the magic of a Taylor Swift concert. By making the concert more accessible, she has ensured that no Swiftie will miss out.
