Shopping can often be an enemy for plus-sized people, with their sections few and far between. Those that do tend to offer limited stock, like oversized and out-of-fashion items, which is discouraging. Here are a few exceptions for places to shop fashionable, plus-sized clothing without a hefty price tag.
Shein
As bad as Shein can be in terms of sustainability and morality, when it comes to plus-sized clothing they’re running the game. Shopping sustainably as a plus-size woman is virtually impossible, particularly on a budget, so whilst generally we suggest to avoid places like Shein, for some people this is pretty impossible.
Whilst a lot of shops will create a separate section for their plus-sized clothing, away from the rest and giving it it’s own collection, Shein takes the on-trend clothes from their regular shop and just makes them bigger. The choice is huge, with the clothing always in fashion and affordable. It’s easily the best place to shop as a plus-sized woman.
ASOS Curve
Similarly to Shein, ASOS Curve offers all its regular clothes in bigger sizes. Unlike a lot of plus-sized ranges, ASOS feature mini dresses, bodycon dresses and crop tops, so plus-size shoppers can wear whatever they want, not just oversized alternatives that some brands offer.
PrettyLittleThing
PLT Plus has over 2000 items in its collection. This is obviously nowhere near the same amount as their regular clothes, but still significantly more than most plus-sized ranges. Again, PLT don’t let being plus-sized mean you have to dress in bin bags – they offer tight dresses and short skirts just like any other clothing brand.
New Look
If you’re wanting to avoid the constant returns that come with online shopping, New Look easily offer the best high street plus-sized range. Shopping as a plus-sized person, the worst nightmare is searching for jeans but New Look’s are perfect. Not too tight around your legs or loose around your bum – they’re a plus-sized dream!
