Summer fragrances are all about floral, citrusy and sweet scents that make you think of warm sunshine and fresh air. Most perfume enthusiasts cycle their perfumes by season, opting for heavier and more spicy scents in the winter and in the summer lighter scents tend to be better to battle the heat. Its vital that a good summer perfume lasts all day regardless of whether you’re walking through the city or are laying by the beach.
If you love floral scents, I recommend the whole Gucci Flora collection with each different scent highlighting a beautiful smelling flower that could be found in any British garden. If you want something that’s especially summary, the Flora Gorgeous Gardinia Fragrance is for you- with top notes of pear blossom and base notes of brown sugar. This is a sweet scent that stays on your skin all day, making it well worth its high-end price tag.
Next up is the people’s favourite! Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist. Not only is this The Boots Beauty Awards Winner its extremely affordable being under only £30. This can be used on both hair and body and has notes of almond and salted caramel, an ideal base spray to layer with a more long-lasting scent like Jimmy Choo’s I Want Choo Eau De Parfum as they both have base notes of vanilla.
What smells more like summer than the scent of suncream? That’s what the question that Vacation® asked when they made their “Vacation” Eau De Toilette. This perfume is moderately priced at less than £50 for 30ml and comes in an effortlessly cool girl bottle. With top notes of coconut milk and base notes of swimsuit lycra and sea salt this perfume is such a nostalgic scent perfect for if you’re breaking a sweat playing beach sports or relaxing and tanning.
